  • German Historical Institute: is an independent research institute in Washington DC. Links to library, calendar, publications, scholarships, bulletin, reference guides, directory and 10 year report.
  • IUPUI Max Kade Center: Provides links to the bibliography and yearbook, indexes to German Americana, full text publications, as well as the center's events and teaching resources.
  • Max Kade Center, University of Kansas: The center conducts research in German-American settlement dialects. The extensive archival collection is not online yet, but is described. Provides a link to their newsletter.
  • Max Kade Institute, University of Wisconsin-Madison: German-American Research Institute with an emphasis on German immigrants and the immigrant experience. Site includes links to articles, areas of research, conferences, German-American library, newsletters, genealogy and other German-American organizations.
  • Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture:  is dedicated to the advancement of study, research, and publications bearing on the history and culture of early America to approximately 1815. Information on the Institute, events and publications.
  • The Peregrine Foundation: is a charitable, educational and research public foundation created to assist families and individuals living in or exiting from experimental social groups.

  • Ephrata Cloister: is a national historic landmark, located in Central Pennsylvania's Lancaster County. One of America's earliest religious communities, the Cloister was founded in 1732 by German settlers. See also The Story of Conrad Beissel and the Ephrata Cloister by Ronald J. Gordon.
  • German-American Influences and Contributions in Philadelphia: This research project presents the major, tangible contributions made by immigrants from German-speaking lands in Europe and their American-born descendants to the commercial, religious, social, educational, cultural, artistic and military fabric of American society.
  • J. William Frey Collection of Pennsylvania Germania: is located at Franklin & Marshall. The collection includes publications about the Pennsylvania Germans, examples of Pennsylvania German language, art and music as well as materials on other prominent men in the study of the Pennsylvania Germans.
